Who publishes SportsDataTutorials, which other websites share its owner, how the tutorials are written, and how their outputs are produced.
Who publishes it
SportsDataTutorials is published under its own name. The site is owned by an independent publisher who also runs these websites:

Some tutorials link to DataField (datafield.dev) for background on a statistical method; it is run by the same owner. None of these sites is affiliated with a league, a team, a broadcaster or a data vendor.
How the tutorials are written
The tutorials are written with an AI model, Claude, made by Anthropic, working from public data and the documentation named in each piece, under the owner’s direction. The owner decides what is published and when.
Until September 25, 2026 the site carried a personal byline. It now publishes as SportsDataTutorials, because the writing was never one person’s first-hand account. Where a tutorial says “we”, it means the site; where a troubleshooting question says “my code”, it is written in the reader’s voice.
How the numbers are checked
- Real outputs. Every tutorial starts as a script. The build runs it against the real source and captures its printed output and charts into the page, so a table here is the script’s own stdout and a chart is the image the script wrote.
- Cited facts. Formulas, definitions and data licences are stated with their source.
If a result cannot be reproduced, it is left out and the tutorial says so. Corrections are marked on the page with their date.
Publication dates
The 20 tutorials published when the site launched on June 4, 2026 had been given earlier dates, from mid-April to early June. On September 25, 2026 they were corrected to June 4, 2026, the day they were created. Three more, written on July 5 in a catch-up round and dated July 2 to 4, were corrected to July 5. Every other tutorial is dated on or after the day its page was first built.
Why an AI model
It makes it practical for a small site to write, run and re-run a large set of tutorials against live public data and keep every printed output genuine. It does not replace the rule above: nothing is published that no script produced.
